There are many runes you can learn to use, with each upgrade giving an additional rune to use. Casting a subsequent rune cancels the current rune.

Story

They were the repository of wisdom, hidden for centuries and accessible only to a few. Even fewer were able to use them or make additions to that wisdom. The works of the saints and the damned lay in these rows, awaiting their hour of appearance. Everyone knew their value was priceless, whatever the purpose of the one who sought to obtain the runes. Holy Runes were keeping the sacred secrets safely stored in non-flaming eternity papers. Many were ready to sacrifice their lives to protect the secrets of the runes.
