This potion caused many problems when first released, so this fixed second version came out, replacing the previous broken card and is the only version of the card allowed in tournaments.
This potion has two very interesting powers, and whick of them is being used must be declared before discarding the item. If sent to the discard pile from the pool, all opponents must play with their hands of cards face up for all players to see. This effect lasts 1d4 turns, ending during the phase 3 of the player discarding the potion. This also must be discarded from the pool, not the hand for this effect.
The other effect would be to send the Potion of ESP to the Abyss (from either hand or pool) to discard one card from each opponent's hand. Since this second power doesn't state you get to look at your opponents' hands, this discard is random.
While this discard may seem to be more useless without looking, it does protect against Handmine (16/DU-chase). Handmine would be activated with the first use of the Potion of ESP. This second power is very similar to the power of Hettman Tsurin (172/1st), except that effects all opponents.
The multiple uses of this card makes it versitile enough to be used in some tournament decks, but not many if this form. The best use of this card is to use the discard power after playing I know what you are thinking!!! (85/IQ), so the discard would not be random.
