Dispel Evil - a spell to get rid of the monsters

arrow

Dispel Evil is like many other spells, but just slightly more powerful. Spells to get rid of monsters include Banishment (395/1st), Speak with Monsters (56/BR), and Charm Monster (374/4th). This is in addition to all the general extermination spells.

However, the thing that seperates Dispel Evil from all others is that it works regardless of special powers. This includes all special powers, including everything from immunity for power, to strong spell immunity as provided by The Winner's Cape (520/4th). This factor makes it worth considering for many different decks, as monsters tend to be some of the most powerful champions.

Just a few that would be worth considering as the target includes Iuz the Evil (167/1st), Gib Htimsen (13/1st-chase), Stryck (17/1st-chase), Living Scroll (408/2nd), Gatekeeper (422/3rd), Korgunard the Avangion (75/AR), Living Wall (58/PO), The Demi-Lich Zyenj (15/UD-chase), The Gorgon (64/BR), Shadow Dragon (36/DR), Lernaean Hydra (7/DR-chase), Gib Lhadsemlo (18/NS-chase), Fire Dragon (38/DU), The Grim Reaper (26/IQ), Kronos the Titan (62/MI), or any of a number of other nasty monsters.

This card will show up in decks expecting to face any of these nasty monsters. It may even make a few tournament decks, but the best way around it is any of the multitude of spell counters for dispelling or spell turning.
